Park City Preschool Program Receives $1.4M for Service Expansion

The Park City School District is set to expand its preschool program this spring, introducing full-day options for 3-year-olds.

In August, the district launched new preschools at Jeremy Ranch and McPolin elementary schools. Similar renovations are underway at Parley’s Park and Trailside elementaries, which will also open in the spring.

Each of these schools will gain two additional classrooms. Interim Superintendent Caleb Fine announced that the program will broaden its offerings this spring.

“We will offer full-day preschool for both 3- and 4-year-olds, as well as half-day options, depending on demand,” Fine said.

Additionally, afterschool programs will be available for preschoolers.

To support this expansion, the Board of Education approved a funding increase of over $1.4 million last week. This funding will cover construction costs, supplies, and additional staff, including eight teachers, teacher aides, a preschool coordinator, and an administrative assistant.

Currently, about 150 students are enrolled in the preschool program. With the upcoming expansion, the district expects to accommodate 288 students across 18 full-day classrooms.

Priority enrollment for the preschool program will begin in January.
