The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee has recently issued Decision No. 2566/QD-UBND, approving the Quality Improvement Project for preschool education and child protection in Huong Hoa, Quang Tri province. This project, funded by World Vision International (WVI), focuses on using the Montessori method to enhance early education and child protection at Huong Phung Kindergarten.
With a non-refundable aid totaling $64,761 (approximately 1.6 billion VND), the project aims to improve preschool education quality and promote children’s holistic development. The project is scheduled to run until September 9 and includes key activities like training sessions for preschool teachers and local partners on the Montessori approach, combined with an initial project kick-off workshop. Additionally, materials will be provided to establish and decorate classrooms based on the Montessori model, upgrading them into collaborative and exploratory learning spaces.
Further, the project will hold information sessions for parents on the Montessori method, along with quarterly feedback meetings combined with parenting workshops. These sessions aim to equip ethnic minority parents with child-rearing skills to foster children’s development and safeguard them from violence.
The initiative also involves creating parent groups based on children’s ages, with regular meetings to discuss positive discipline and child protection from violence. The project will support parents and teachers in implementing strategies to enrich children’s interactive learning environments, enhancing both educational quality and child safety.
