Noak Bridge Pre-School in Basildon has received an “outstanding” rating from Ofsted, recognizing its ambitious curriculum and the exceptional progress made by children. The inspection took place on October 3, with the results published on Friday.
Previously rated as “good,” the preschool has improved significantly thanks to the hard work of its management and staff. Inspectors praised the team for developing a curriculum that is both challenging and engaging. The report noted, “The dedicated management team and equally committed staff have created a highly ambitious curriculum.”
Key to this success is the school’s “curiosity” approach to learning and their use of “in-the-moment” planning. Staff have a strong understanding of how to implement an effective, play-based education program. They ensure that each child receives the support they need to thrive, building their confidence across all areas of learning.
The report highlighted that all children make exceptional progress from their starting points. Children arrive at preschool eager to engage in activities and separate from their parents with ease. A robust key-person system helps foster trusting relationships, and children develop a strong sense of self-worth. Staff maintain high expectations for behavior, which is consistently exemplary.
At the time of the inspection, the preschool had 99 pupils enrolled.
