COLORADO SPRINGS — Each day, over 1,800 children in need are getting a head start on their education, thanks to the non-profit organization CPCD, which stands for Community Partnership for Child Development.
On Wednesday, Dianne Derby hosted the organization’s annual fundraising event at the Antlers Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs, helping to raise money for their mission.
CPCD aims to enroll children under five in preschool while supporting their parents and caregivers in overcoming poverty. Jennifer Boulware, a parent, shared her experience, saying, “They have provided resources that allow me to advocate for my child as he progresses through school. They’ve also helped me pursue a career by qualifying for a scholarship from their memorial fund.”
One of CPCD’s most prominent programs is Head Start, which offers health services to children aged three to five. These services include educational support, nutrition, physical health, and behavioral assistance. Additionally, CPCD empowers parents by teaching them how to be their child’s first and best teacher.
