For families managing tight budgets, every bit helps. The St. Lucian government is now offering support for preschool costs to ease the financial burden on parents.

Prime Minister Philip Pierre has announced that the government will contribute $50 per child each month toward preschool fees for more than 2,500 children attending private preschools. This aid will be available for every month of the first term in the 2024/25 academic year.

Preschools play a crucial role in the education system. By allocating over $148,000 to help with these expenses, the government aims to ensure that young learners have access to quality early childhood education.
