AHS Launches Health Education Roadshow for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Children

by Beatrice

Abu Dhabi-UAE – Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a division of PureHealth, the largest healthcare platform in the Middle East, has launched the “Ready for School with AHS Roadshow.” This initiative aims to provide health education and awareness to children and parents in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Starting in late August and running until September 5th, the roadshow will visit 12 healthcare centers. The program invites parents to bring their children for educational sessions on various health topics. This engagement will offer families valuable insights and resources to improve their children’s health and literacy.

Dr. Khadija Al Marashda, Chief Operations Officer at AHS, emphasized the importance of health education in children’s development. “A strong health foundation is crucial for children to reach their full potential. Our roadshow provides parents with the knowledge needed to prepare their children for school. Good health supports both academic performance and overall development. At AHS, we are dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the Abu Dhabi community and guiding them towards a healthier future.”

Impact of Health Education on School Performance

Educating children and their parents on key health topics can greatly influence a child’s school performance and general well-being. For example, understanding the importance of good vision can help recognize how it affects a child’s engagement with learning materials and confidence. Similarly, knowledge about hearing health can aid in early detection of issues that may impact a child’s language development and communication skills.

Oral health education is also vital for maintaining comfort and focus in school. Teaching children proper oral hygiene and stressing regular dental check-ups can prevent issues that might hinder their academic performance. Furthermore, awareness of podiatry health, including conditions like flat feet, can help parents seek timely interventions to avoid physical discomfort affecting their child’s development.

Schedule and Locations

The roadshow’s first phase took place in Abu Dhabi in late August, involving six healthcare centers: Al Mushrif Children’s Specialty Center, Al Zafaranah Diagnostic & Screening Center, Al Bahia Healthcare Center, Al Shamkha Healthcare Center, Al Maqtaa Healthcare Center, and Madinat Khalifa Healthcare Center.

The second phase will move to Al Ain from Monday, September 2nd to Thursday, September 5th, covering six additional centers: Neima Healthcare Center, Oud Al Touba Diagnostic & Screening Center, Al Towayya Children’s Specialty Center, Al Aamerah Healthcare Center, Mezyad Healthcare Center, and Al Hili Healthcare Center.

Updates and raffle draw winners for the Back To School initiative will be announced on @ahsclinics.
