Punjab has introduced the “Aarambh” programme, targeting the enhancement of early childhood education. The initiative provides parents and educators with activities aligned with the state curriculum, designed to be easily implemented at home. These activities aim to develop children’s cognitive, pre-literacy, pre-numeracy, social-emotional, and motor skills, both fine and gross.
According to Akashvani’s correspondent, the “Aarambh” initiative is focused on the holistic development of young children attending Anganwadi centres. The programme seeks to create a nurturing, play-based learning environment, involving active participation from both parents and Anganwadi workers. It emphasizes comprehensive development through engaging activities.
“Aarambh” is rooted in the key principles of the National Education Policy 2020. It also aligns with national initiatives such as the foundational “Aadharshila” and “Poshan bhi Padhai bhi” training curriculum, which were introduced by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
