Non-Profit Arts Education Program Arrives in Jefferson Parish Schools

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — KID smART, an arts education organization based in New Orleans, will extend its services to Jefferson Parish schools in the 2024-2025 school year.

The expansion follows successful partnerships with Orleans and Jefferson parishes. KID smART plans to introduce its arts integration program to 12 elementary and middle schools across Jefferson Parish.

For 25 years, KID smART has enhanced arts education in public schools. The organization has impacted over 63,000 students and 11,000 teachers with its programs.

Elise Gallinot Goldman, Executive Director of KID smART, expressed excitement about the expansion. “We are thrilled to bring our Creative Schools program beyond New Orleans. Our program promotes equitable instruction, empowers teachers, and engages students joyfully. It also boosts learning, energizes educators, and improves school morale through arts-integrated instruction.”

In the 2024-2025 school year, KID smART will collaborate with the following schools:

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy

Dr. John Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy

International School of LA – Uptown

International School of LA – Dixon

International School of LA – Westbank

CANO – Foundation

CANO – Esperanza

Audubon – Gentilly

Audubon – Uptown Lower Campus

Hynes – Lakeview

Hynes – UNO

Renew Laurel Elementary (including the Renew Therapeutic Program)
