Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan praised PM Shri Schools on Thursday, calling them a beacon of inspiration for rural children across the country. Speaking at the Prerana Programme, which saw participation from students nationwide, including those from PM Shri Schools, Pradhan highlighted the enthusiasm and personal growth of the students involved.

The Prerana Programme, launched under the invitation of Prime Minister Modi, aims to provide an enriching learning experience for students in Classes 9 to 12. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and is managed by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. It seeks to offer students a unique and inspiring educational journey while fostering leadership skills.

PM SHRI Schools, a centrally sponsored initiative by the Government of India, is designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment for over 14,500 schools. These include institutions managed by the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, as well as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS). The goal is to ensure that every student has access to a safe, stimulating learning environment with robust infrastructure and resources.

The scheme is expected to directly benefit more than 20 lakh students, promoting a deeper understanding of school education quality. Insights gained from these schools will help shape educational policies and practices nationwide, with the aim of scaling successful elements to other schools across the country.
