SAN ANTONIO – St. Jude’s Ranch for Children celebrated the grand opening of a new school on Tuesday.

During a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the new Harvey E. Najim Education Center was unveiled. This K-12 school, part of the UT charter school system, is designed to provide foster children and youth with a safe and stable learning environment.

With generous support from Harvey Najim, the Greenery Foundation, Valero Energy Foundation, and other donors, the school exceeded its fundraising goal of $2.7 million.

Harvey Najim highlighted the importance of the new school for the students. “Many of these kids move between foster families two or three times a year, but now, they can stay here and attend school here,” he said.

The CEO of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children noted that the project has been in development for five years.
