Education authorities have decided to relocate Jessie Younghusband Primary School in Chichester to ensure the future of primary education in the area. This decision comes after two public consultations held by West Sussex County Council regarding the proposal to move the school to a new location within the Minerva Heights development.
According to the Council, this relocation will facilitate the expansion of nearby St. Anthony’s School and involve revisions to the catchment areas for Jessie Younghusband Primary School, Parklands Community Primary School, and Fishbourne C of E Primary School.
Additionally, the move will enable St. Anthony’s School to utilize the premises vacated by Jessie Younghusband Primary School to create 50 new places specifically for children across the county who have special educational needs and disabilities.
Detailed planning for the expansion of St. Anthony’s School will continue during the autumn term.
