U.S. Department of Education Launches ‘EndDEI’ Portal to Report Discrimination in Schools

by Beatrice

The U.S. Department of Education unveiled a new online portal on Thursday, allowing parents, students, and teachers to report instances of discrimination in schools. The platform, accessible at EndDEI.gov, enables users to detail discriminatory practices, specify the school district, and provide their zip code.

The initiative aims to address concerns over divisive ideologies and indoctrination in education. “The U.S. Department of Education is committed to ensuring all students have access to meaningful learning free of divisive ideologies and indoctrination,” the website states.

The portal allows individuals to report “illegal discriminatory practices” in schools. The Department of Education will use these reports to identify potential areas for investigation. Nicole Neily, president of Parents Defending Education, praised the move, calling it a necessary step in addressing widespread issues in education.

“We’re very much in a ‘see something, say something’ moment,” Neily told Fox News Digital. “With approximately 13,500 school districts and 4,000 degree-granting institutions, there’s a lot of ground to cover—and many hands make light work.”

The launch of the portal follows former President Donald Trump’s efforts to curb diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. On January 22, Trump signed an executive order to end DEI-related discrimination in federal contracting, workforce policies, and spending. The order also directed federal agencies to align their practices with the Supreme Court’s decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, which ruled that race-based affirmative action in college admissions violates the Constitution.

Supporters of DEI programs argue they address historical injustices and systemic inequities. However, critics, including parent advocacy groups, claim schools have prioritized controversial ideologies over core academic skills.

“For years, parents have been begging schools to focus on teaching their kids practical skills like reading, writing, and math, instead of pushing critical theory, rogue sex education, and divisive ideologies,” said Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, in a press release.

The debate over educational content has intensified since the COVID-19 pandemic, with school board meetings often becoming heated battlegrounds. Parents have clashed with administrators over issues such as sexually explicit books in school libraries, LGBTQ-related materials, and policies requiring teachers to use students’ preferred pronouns.

In response, lawmakers at the local and state levels have introduced measures to increase parental oversight in education. These include stricter book review policies, limits on DEI programs, and efforts to curb the teaching of progressive curricula like critical race theory and gender theory in classrooms.

The new portal marks a significant step in the ongoing national conversation about parental rights, educational transparency, and the role of schools in addressing social and political issues.
