Nearly 93% of Kazakh Children Aged 2-6 Are Enrolled in Preschool

Kazakhstan has opened 561 new preschool institutions since the beginning of the year, increasing the total capacity by 64,000 seats. This development has raised the percentage of children aged 2 to 6 enrolled in preschool education to 92.5%, according to the Ministry of Enlightenment, as reported by Kazinform News Agency.

The increase in preschool capacity is a result of the construction, renovation, and expansion of existing facilities. These efforts aim to provide more children with access to early education.

Manara Adymova, Director of the Preschool Education Department, highlighted that the government is following the President’s directives to improve the availability of preschool education. A detailed plan for the construction of new preschool organizations for 2023-2027 has already been established.

Currently, 13 regions, including Shymkent, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Turkistan, and Aktobe, have achieved full preschool enrollment, with all children in these areas receiving early education.

As of now, Kazakhstan has 11,600 preschool organizations, serving 1 million children across the country.
