REXBURG — The Madison Early Childhood Education Center will host a Family Christmas Night on December 5, offering a range of festive activities for the community.
The event will feature a variety of children’s activities in different areas of the preschool, including a chance to take photos with Santa, make Christmas crafts, listen to holiday stories, and enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides.
In addition, the center will hold a stocking raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. Admission is $10 per person, which includes three raffle tickets. The donations will go toward funding a new, all-inclusive playground for the school.
Principal April Jones emphasized the importance of the project, noting that 50% of the children at the school have special needs. “We want to build a playground that everyone can enjoy,” she said. “We have children in wheelchairs, kids with autism, and a wide range of abilities. This playground will make sure all our students have access to it.”
The Madison Early Childhood Education Center, which opened in August, was previously part of Burton Elementary School. After Hibbard Elementary moved to a new location, the center took over the former Hibbard building and became an independent entity.
“It’s wonderful to have our own space,” Jones added. “We’re now able to provide more resources for our students.”
The Family Christmas Night will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 2413 North 3000 West, Rexburg.
“We appreciate any support,” Jones said, encouraging community involvement.
