Turkish broadcaster TRT’s educational channel, TRT EBA, has acquired the preschool series Kozalak Preschool, developed as part of the Increasing Quality & Access to Early Childhood Education (ECE) project. This initiative is supported by UNICEF, the European Union, and Turkey’s Ministry of National Education.
The 3D animated series, consisting of 39 episodes each lasting 7 minutes, was produced by Turkish animation companies Mako Kids and Melon. It was created by Evren Yigit, chief content officer and co-founder of Mako Kids.
Targeting children aged three to six, *Kozalak Preschool* focuses on foundational learning in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development. The story centers on a group of preschoolers as they navigate their daily activities.
The series also emphasizes inclusivity and early childhood empowerment. It promotes sustainability by teaching eco-friendly practices such as rainwater collection, recycling, and composting. In addition, *Kozalak Preschool* fosters critical thinking and curiosity, with episodes dedicated to science and STEM education.
The show’s characters and stories were inspired by real children, with contributions to character design, settings, and plots. Notably, one of the main characters is visually impaired, developed in collaboration with the Parilti Blind Kids Association.
