DANVILLE, MONTOUR CO. — The Danville Area Community Center (DACC) has been awarded a $25,000 grant to support its preschool education program.
The funding comes from the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania through the Greater Susquehanna Valley Competitive Grant Program, which announced the grant recently.
The DACC plans to use the funds to improve its preschool services for children ages 3 to 5. The focus will be on providing a safe, high-quality learning environment with an emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), art, fitness, and wellness.
“We are extremely grateful for this essential support,” said Heather Laubach, Chief Operating Officer of DACC. “It allows us to expand and enrich our program, ensuring we continue to provide a nurturing educational environment that gives young children a strong foundation for their future.”
The DACC is also in the process of completing a major renovation project, having raised $1.3 million toward a $2.4 million initiative.
