The Early Childhood Foundation of Bermuda will host its “Celebrating Early Childhood” event on November 10th, 2024, at CedarBridge Academy in Devonshire. The event, originally scheduled for September 8th, has been rescheduled to Sunday, November 10th, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kalmar Richards Conference Room.
This year’s theme, “How Do We Re-envision Early Childhood,” will focus on the evolution and future of early childhood education in Bermuda. The program will feature several key presentations, including:
The History of Early Childhood Education in Bermuda by Gwendolyn Creary
Early Childhood Key Messages by Dr. Julie Dunstan
The launch of the Early Childhood Foundation of Bermuda by Penny Saltus
A special segment honoring those who have made significant contributions to early childhood education in Bermuda.
A spokesperson for the Foundation emphasized the importance of healthy relationships in early childhood development. According to the 2022 Zero to Three Healthy Steps program, “Child well-being is dependent on caregiver well-being.” The program highlights that early intervention and collaboration between caregivers, day care providers, and families can significantly improve the developmental outcomes of young children.
The event is aimed at daycare providers, preschool teachers, parents, and anyone in the community passionate about supporting Bermuda’s future generations. Tickets for the event are priced at $60, which includes refreshments after the event.
