Medina, Ohio — After a brief transition period, Helping Hands Preschool is set to welcome the community with an open house on October 30.
School district officials announced that the event will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the preschool’s new location, which is the former Heritage Elementary School at 833 Guildford Blvd.
Principal Heather Mix expressed enthusiasm about the open house. “Helping Hands Preschool at Heritage provides a nurturing and inspiring space for early childhood education. We’re excited to invite the community to learn more about our programs and services,” she said. “We look forward to meeting families and sharing our vision for helping children thrive.”
The open house will feature guided tours of the facility every 15 minutes. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the staff and discover more about the educational programs for Medina’s youngest students.
Previously located at Eliza Northrop Elementary School, Helping Hands Preschool moved to the Heritage building as part of Medina City Schools’ redistricting plan, which resulted in Heritage closing as an elementary school.
Mix noted that extensive renovations were made to transform the building into a suitable space for preschoolers. The facility now includes 12 individual classrooms, providing ample room for future growth. “Currently, we are using nine of the classrooms, so we will have room as the program grows,” she explained.
Photos showcasing the renovations will be available for attendees to see the changes made to the building. “I’m very excited for the community to see how this building has been repurposed,” Mix added.
