Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) — On The Road Collaborative is dedicated to helping students who struggle in traditional classroom settings achieve the same level of success as their peers.
While many students excel in the usual classroom environment, with its 20-30 student size, others find it challenging. On The Road Collaborative addresses this by providing individualized or small-group tutoring sessions after school to better meet the needs of these students.
“Teachers have large classes and extensive curricula to cover,” explained Angela Mickens, director of community engagement at On The Road Collaborative. “Our after-school programs allow us to spend time with students during their most challenging moments and work closely with each child to support their unique needs in collaboration with their teachers.”
Additionally, On The Road Collaborative offers students exposure to various professions. High school students often face the challenge of deciding their future paths. While many choose college, others explore different career options. On The Road helps by connecting students with professionals from various fields, offering guidance for their post-graduation decisions.
Mickens encouraged those interested in supporting the cause to visit the On The Road Collaborative website for more information and volunteer opportunities.
