We are excited to announce the launch of a new, specially designed space at our preschool, where education and nature come together for daily, enriching learning experiences. Our preschoolers will now benefit from daily hikes at the OKC Zoo and have access to a dedicated outdoor learning area right outside their new classrooms. This space is designed to promote essential skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork through nature-based activities.
Our aim is to spend 75% of our time outdoors, exploring the natural world, learning about animals and their habitats, and understanding our role in protecting them. The Nature Explorers program follows OKDHS childcare licensing standards, Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines, Oklahoma Academic Standards for Pre-K, and focuses on school readiness skills. Children will learn letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and more through engaging, nature-based activities.
To secure a spot, a $100 non-refundable enrollment fee is required at registration. Children must be between 3 and 5 years old and fully potty trained. The school year runs from mid-August to mid-May, aligning closely with the Oklahoma City Public School schedule, but enrollment is open year-round as space permits. We also offer a summer program from late May to early August, providing a full-day learning experience throughout the year.
