On Tuesday, officials across Greater Cincinnati gathered to celebrate the opening of a new preschool.
“The Learning Nest” held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the afternoon, marking its launch just months after the closure of St. Thomas Nursery School in Terrace Park. St. Thomas had been serving families for 65 years before closing at the end of the last school year, leaving many in need of new childcare options.
Fortunately, those affected, including former teachers, found new opportunities at the nearby Learning Nest in Newtown.
Co-owner Angela Jolley expressed enthusiasm about the diverse team of 18 women working at the preschool. “We come from different backgrounds and ages, but we have a lot of fun together,” she said. “We offer a wealth of education and history to both students and their families.”
Classes at The Learning Nest will begin next week at its Main Street location on the Village Church property. The preschool is set to welcome 80 students, including 60 who previously attended St. Thomas.
