Access Holdings Plc has further demonstrated its dedication to social impact by taking a major step to support vulnerable children through education.
In a recent ceremony at Access Towers in Victoria Island, Lagos, Access Holdings PLC, in collaboration with Bethesda Child Support Agency, donated two coaster buses. This donation is part of Access Holdings’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
The new buses will significantly enhance Bethesda’s operations, providing safe and efficient transportation for children traveling to and from school. This gesture is a key element of Access Holdings’ ongoing mission to deliver quality education to 1,000 underprivileged children across Nigeria, a mission that has been central to its CSR efforts for over ten years.
The buses will help overcome a major barrier to education for these children. They are expected to play a vital role in improving access to education, ensuring that children can attend school regularly and safely.
Over the past few years, a team of about 20 Access Holdings employees has invested personal funds into supporting Bethesda’s comprehensive services. These services include education, healthcare, and other essential support for underserved children. This partnership showcases how corporate and individual contributions can go beyond philanthropy to make a direct impact on community development.
Victor Willie, Head of Government & Stakeholder Relations at Access Holdings PLC, spoke at the handover event, highlighting the importance of the partnership.
“This collaboration with Bethesda is more than a philanthropic gesture; it’s about creating real opportunities and breaking the cycle of poverty for vulnerable children. The buses we’ve donated will help Bethesda reach more children and ensure they have access to essential education,” Willie said.
With millions of Nigerian children still out of school, Access Holdings’ initiatives address a critical need by removing barriers to education. For many children, education is not just about learning; it’s a lifeline that can protect them from exploitation and abuse, offering a path out of poverty. By solving transportation issues, Access Holdings is contributing to a brighter, more equitable future for these children and their communities.
Pastor Nkoyo Rapu, founder of Bethesda Child Support Agency, expressed deep gratitude during the event, emphasizing the impact of Access Holdings’ support.
“Access Holdings has been a dedicated partner in our mission for over ten years. This latest donation will transform the lives of many children who would otherwise lack access to education. Their support highlights the power of collective responsibility and shows what can be achieved when organizations are truly committed to uplifting communities. Together, we are opening doors of opportunity for those who need it most.”
