In a significant display of corporate social responsibility, Pertinence Group, through its Pertinence Foundation, has provided N10 million in back-to-school support to 1,000 parents. This initiative aims to ease the financial strain of preparing children for the upcoming school session.

At the 2024 Wealth Summit held in Maryland, Lagos, the first 1,000 parents who attended the event were given armbands granting them access to various back-to-school packages. The support included cash for school fees, school bags, stationery, uniforms, and shoes.

Co-founders Sunday Olorunsheyi and Wisdom Ezekiel outlined the details of the support packages. Each parent received cash distributions: N100,000 for 10 parents, N50,000 for 20 parents, and N20,000 for another 20 parents. Initially, all 1,000 parents received N7,500 each.

Ezekiel highlighted the foundation’s dedication to assisting parents during these tough economic times. “With schools on holiday and children preparing to return in September, we wanted to provide this support,” he said. “In these challenging times, every bit of help is valuable. We have distributed the N10 million in a way that maximizes benefits for more people.”

Olorunsheyi emphasized that this initiative was part of the company’s 12th-anniversary celebrations. “As Pertinence Group marks 12 years, we wanted to give back in a way that directly benefits families,” he explained.

Beneficiary Segun Ighomaro expressed his surprise and gratitude after receiving the additional N100,000. “I was initially pleased with the N7,500, but winning the extra N100,000 was a shock. I’m very thankful to Pertinence,” he said.

Another beneficiary, Bamiduro Rose Adebiyi, praised the initiative, noting, “The co-founders are doing a great job. Their investment in people is commendable, and I pray they receive abundant blessings in return.”

The event also featured a raffle, where three lucky winners received notable prizes: a free plot of land, and discounts of 50 percent and 25 percent on land purchases.

The Reachout Pertinence Foundation is known for its ongoing support of educational and societal causes. Past contributions include donations of ceiling fans and waiting area chairs to health facilities, relief materials for displaced persons, sanitary pads for school girls, educational scholarships, exam forms, and books, as well as sponsoring sports competitions in Lagos communities.
