Duncraig Education Provider Fined for Poor Child Supervision

Nest Early Education Services Pty Ltd, the approved provider of Nido Early School Duncraig, has been fined $20,000 for failing to meet supervision standards required by the Education and Care Services National Law (WA) Act 2012. The penalty follows a breach of section 165(1) concerning inadequate supervision of children.

An investigation by the Department of Communities revealed that the provider did not adequately supervise three children at the facility.

In addition to the fine, Nest Early Education Services Pty Ltd must pay $2,000 towards the Department’s legal costs.

“Adequate supervision within the education and care services sector is a required standard.”

“The Education and Care Regulatory Unit will continue to work with providers to ensure they implement sufficient measures to support their staff in supervising children properly.”
