Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended a mega parent-teacher meeting at the government higher secondary school in Bandarchua, Jashpur district, on Tuesday. During his interaction with parents and grandparents, he highlighted the critical role of family and parents in a child’s education. “The family is the first school of any child, and parents are the first teachers,” he said. The Chief Minister explained that the parent-teacher meeting program in government schools aims to provide parents with information about their children’s studies and encourage their active participation in educational progress.
The Chief Minister urged parents to maintain regular communication with teachers. This practice, he noted, would keep parents informed about their children’s academic progress and reduce the risk of children falling into bad company.
School Education Secretary Siddharth Komal Pardeshi added, “A mega PTM is being organized in all 5,500 clusters of the state. Recently, during a review meeting of the education department, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for PTMs in government schools, similar to those in private schools. This initiative aims to ensure the participation of parents along with teachers in studies and school activities.”
Harisevak Chouhan, a former student of the school and now a grandparent, expressed his appreciation for the initiative. He shared that one of his grandsons, who also studied at the same school, is now pursuing an MSc, while his second grandson is currently in Class 11. Chouhan stressed the importance of communication between parents and teachers, stating that it enables continuous monitoring of the child’s educational progress and strengthens their foundation.
