On Tuesday, Educate Girls, a leading non-profit organization, launched the Shiksha Rath in Sahason village, Bahadurpur development block, Prayagraj. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of educating girls in rural areas.
The Shiksha Rath, a van adorned with posters and banners, serves as a mobile awareness campaign. It is part of Educate Girls’ broader enrolment campaign designed to encourage parents to enroll their daughters in school. The campaign was organized in partnership with the village head, local educational institutions, and community volunteers.
Various activities, including street plays, awareness rallies, speeches, and interactive demonstrations, were carefully planned to inspire the villagers. These efforts aimed to highlight the benefits of educating girls and motivate parents to send their daughters to school.
Block Education Officer Rakesh Yadav emphasized the significance of education, stating, “Education is the foundation of progress for any society. The purpose of Shiksha Rath is to spread the message of education to everyone in the village and motivate children to go to school. The Shiksha Rath campaign by Educate Girls does commendable work. I am sure that with this effort, more and more girls will enroll in schools.”
Nitin Kumar Jha, the State Operations Head of Educate Girls, highlighted the organization’s collaborative efforts with the district administration and the district education center. He said, “Educate Girls is creating awareness in all communities in the village about the importance of enrolling girls in schools. We hope to enroll as many girls in school this year as possible.”
Through initiatives like Shiksha Rath, Educate Girls continues to make significant strides in promoting education for girls in rural areas, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
