CenClear is still accepting registrations for pre-school programs across the region for the 2024-25 academic year.
“Many families think that it’s too late to enroll in pre-school by summer,” said Amy Wible, the pre-school director for CenClear’s Early Childhood Division.
Wible explained that pre-school provides young children with opportunities to learn through diverse experiences and hands-on activities. “Our programs engage children in educational activities that support all areas of their development,” she added.
CenClear’s pre-school programs are designed to support the entire family. Wible noted, “We conduct home visits and parent conferences to offer strategies that foster a child’s growth both inside and outside the classroom. This approach is a vital part of our early childhood development strategy, and parents respond positively to it.”
The pre-school classes run five days a week and offer both half-day and full-day schedules, depending on the location. Many locations also provide transportation.
While CenClear’s pre-school programs have income eligibility requirements, there are additional ways for families to qualify for the Head Start program. Wible also mentioned that for children who are not yet old enough for pre-school, CenClear offers Early Head Start, Early Intervention, and Family Centers.
CenClear’s pre-school programs are available in Clearfield, Centre, and Elk counties.
Based in Bigler, CenClear offers a range of services, including early childhood education, mental health support, and substance use disorder treatment. They serve over 14,000 individuals annually across various programs in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Centre, Elk, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Juniata, Mifflin, Potter, and Somerset counties, as well as some neighboring areas.
