Former President Donald Trump, known for his confidence in his memory, made an oversight regarding the age of his youngest son this week.

Barron Trump, who is poised to step onto the political platform as a delegate from Florida at the upcoming Republican National Convention this summer, caught his father’s attention during a recent interview with Miami’s Telemundo 51. President Trump, expressing admiration for his son’s qualities as a student, remarked, “To me, that’s very cute, because he’s a very young guy.” However, he mistakenly stated Barron’s age as 17, emphasizing his youth.

However, there was a discrepancy. Barron Trump is, in fact, 18 years old, having celebrated his birthday in March.

When the error was brought to the attention of the Trump campaign by NBC News, a spokesperson dismissed it as sensationalist reporting, likening it to tabloid journalism.

Barron Trump has largely maintained a low profile during his father’s presidency and subsequent years. However, his visibility is set to increase this summer. The New York Times reported that Barron will play a significant role in the Republican National Convention, officially nominating his father as the party’s presidential candidate at the event scheduled for July in Milwaukee.

As Barron prepares to graduate from high school next week, his entrance into the public eye appears imminent.
