Goldfish Swim School, a leading water safety and swim lesson provider for infants and children, is teaming up with F45 Training South Hill to host the first virtual Safer Summer Splash and Dash in May. This event aims to promote water safety and ensure all children are safer in and around water this summer.
May is National Water Safety Awareness Month, making it an ideal time to review essential water safety tips. Drowning is a significant risk for children, with statistics showing it as the leading cause of injury death for ages one to four, and the second leading cause for ages one to 14. Studies have demonstrated that regular, high-quality swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88%.
The virtual Safer Summer Splash and Dash offers a 5k for adults and a 1k for children. Families can sign up on the website and complete the event at their convenience throughout May. The registration fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children, with all proceeds supporting Every Child a Swimmer. Donations are also welcome through the website to help ensure swim lessons are accessible to all families.
Participants can collect race materials, including race bibs and participant medals, from Goldfish Swim School Puyallup or F45 Training South Hill starting May 1, 2024.
Prizes will be awarded to top finishers, including gym memberships and swim lesson packages. Additionally, all participating children will have the chance to win a Safer Summer Swimmer prize pack.

Throughout May, Goldfish Swim School promotes its ‘Safer Swimmer Pledge’ campaign to raise awareness of water safety and drowning prevention. Families are encouraged to take the pledge and engage in conversations about water safety. Children who take the pledge will receive an extra entry to win a Safer Summer Swimmer prize pack.
